Gino Cortopassi, Professor, Department of Molecular Biosciences, School of Veterinary Medicine UC Davis, presents "Mitochondrial metabolism and inflammation".
The Cortopassi laboratory designs new drugs to hit novel drug targets, to ameliorate diabetes & liver disease, neurodegenerative disease and cancer. All phases of preclinical drug development, from compound design and medicinal chemistry through testing in animal models are performed. His lab has identified mitochondrial toxins in the environment, and are working through their impact.
