Fred Chang, Professor, University of California San Francisco, presents "Life in a crowded environment: regulation of density and nuclear size control".

Fred grew up in the Bay Area. He was an undergraduate at Princeton U., went to grad and med school at UCSF, and did postdocs in Oxford and Berkeley. He started his own lab at Columbia U. Medical Center and is currently a Professor at UCSF. He is a physical cell biologist who is interested in how the dense viscoelastic matrix of the cytoplasm impacts cellular processes.
