Research Interests
My research focuses on the evolutionary processes that shape genetic variation within plant populations, particularly maize and its wild relatives. By studying how natural selection and genetic drift influence genetic diversity, I aim to uncover the mechanisms driving adaptation and speciation. My work combines field studies, laboratory experiments, and computational modeling to investigate how environmental factors and historical events impact plant evolution. This research not only enhances our understanding of evolutionary biology but also provides insights into agricultural practices and conservation efforts, helping to maintain and improve plant biodiversity in changing environments.
