Helen Schurke Frasier joined the College of Biological Sciences (CBS) in 2022 to focus on student success initiatives. In her role, Helen serves CBS to centrally develop, implement, and assess strategic academic and student success initiatives within and across the departments, the college, and the campus. In addition to working directly on various student initiatives and with CBS student organizations, she is responsible for and partners with the teams from the campus-wide Health Professions Advising and Post Baccalaureate programs, AggieLaunch, BioLaunch, and AvenueB. Her work centers on the challenges and opportunities associated with inclusive access, student academic success, and social mobility for CBS students.

Before joining CBS, Helen served in academic, student affairs, research, advocacy, and policy positions at Georgetown University, the Council of Graduate Schools, and since 2007, at UC Davis. Her academic research, supported by the National Science Foundation, focuses on institutional barriers to degree completion and the impacts on persistence, attrition, and time to degree. An accomplished violinist, her performances include symphonic, soundtrack, and solo appearances. She holds certificates in Management and Leadership in Education, and Leadership in Diversity and Inclusion from Harvard University and Cornell University, respectively.
