Teresa grew up in Garden Grove, California. She completed her BA degree in Psychology and East Asian Studies at New York University, MS and PhD degrees in Clinical Psychology at the University of Michigan, and post-doctoral training at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW-Madison). Her area of research included Asian American mental health and multicultural psychology. She has taught psychology courses (e.g., Introduction to Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Research Methods, and Positive Psychology) at the University of Michigan and Madison College, and a first-year orientation seminar at UW-Madison. After her position as a post-doctoral scholar, she held positions as a Student Services Coordinator at UW-Madison's School of Education and Statistics Department, and as an Academic Advisor at UW-Madison's College of Letters and Science. She enjoys volunteering with LGBT Books to Prisoners, reading, being outdoors camping and hiking, attending performances, being with loved ones (friends and family), traveling, and fighting for social justice.
