Rankings

In rankings released earlier this month, the University of California, Davis, was recognized as a global leader across many fields and disciplines.  

Quacquarelli Symonds, or QS, considered one of the most influential international authorities on university rankings, placed UC Davis 41st in the world in the broad category of the life sciences and medicine, and 38th in the category of biological sciences. 

In the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024, released earlier this week, UC Davis ranked 35th in the world in the broad category of the life sciences and medicine. Previous rankings, in 2023, placed campus at 38th globally in the same category. 

The University of California, Davis, continues to be recognized for its leadership in the fields of veterinary science, and agriculture and forestry, among other fields, in the 2023 QS World University Rankings by Subject released March 22.

Doing good and fostering social mobility helped put the University of California, Davis, in the No. 2 spot among public universities and 11th among all national universities in the Washington Monthly 2022 College Guide and Rankings released in August.

In the 2022 QS World University Rankings by Subject released on April 6, UC Davis ranked 43rd in the world and tied for 19th in the nation in the broad category of the life sciences and medicine. Demonstrating its strength across the disciplines, UC Davis was also ranked globally and nationally in each of the other broad categories: natural sciences, engineering and technology, arts and humanities, and social sciences and management. 

UC Davis graduate and professional degree programs are recognized among the best in the country, according to the U.S. News & World Report’s 2023 edition of Best Graduate Schools. The updated rankings were released on Monday, March 28.
